The past few seasons, he has been trade bait.
He’s had his name throw into every trade deadline rumor. Yet, Wilson Chandler has remained on the team, never once complaining about the speculation.
With these trade rumors, many were shocked to hear the 28-year-old had signed a four-year, $46 million dollar extension in early July.
From an organizational standpoint many felt that the Nuggets should simply rebuild and not resign older players. From a player perspective, many wondered why Wilson Chandler would stay in a city that has not experienced large portions of success.
But with a closer look, no one should question why Denver would keep such a player and why any one would expect anything less from Chandler.
After resigning, Chandler uploaded a very touching post:
Chandler mentioned he makes all his decisions on what makes him happiest in life. In addition “I tasted what it was like to win in this great city [Denver], and I’ve never been more focused to recapture that feeling.”
As a Denver Nuggets fan, this should be beyond exciting to you. The shooting forward is showing you that he has a bond with your team and your city.
He wants to be here and wants to help the Nuggets win. Wilson Chandler is The Epitome of Denver Nuggets Fans.
