Corso (Likely) Knows Winner of VT-Clemson

“Lighting hit my car: five-hundred-billion-to-one. And my favorite saying: I don’t what a Hokie is, but God is one of them.”

From lighting striking his car moments after making his selection to wearing the throwback long-necked Hokie Head, Lee Corso’s headgear picks for College GameDay have one thing in common for Virginia Tech: perfection.

That’s right, the long-time cohost of the weekly show, who makes his pick for the college football game of the week by putting on something of the team he thinks will win, has never predicted a winner of a Hokie game wrong.

Now this doesn’t mean Corso has always chosen the Hokies to win in his fourteen Virginia Tech games. In fact, the 81-year-old picking the Hokies is in the minority.

The former Florida State coach has picked the Blacksburg team four times for the show’s ten traditional Saturday shows involving the Hokies and just once in the four non-Saturday shows.

However, there is another interesting stat.

In games where College GameDay is in Blacksburg for the show, Corso has picked Virginia Tech to win four of the five games.

Of course with the host being undefeated in his Virginia Tech picks, the Hokies have went 4-1 with the show being in Blacksburg.

Will Corso stay perfect this Saturday picking between the No.12 Hokies and the No. 2 Tigers with the show back in in town? One will have to wait and see.

As of now, Corso sits perfect at 10-0.
